Research

My practice is based on material research at large. My references come from material science as well as material culture. I focus on ceramics because, in spite of the humble origin of mud, or maybe because of that, these materials offer a richness of experiences and give me the chance to explore all my apparently distant interests.

My research includes studying materials properties and transformations, exploring their origin, their process, their use and meanings, their social and environmental context.

Extending my inquiry beyond the physical characteristics of a material, diving into the complexity of our world, enables me to uncover a latent beauty and the emotional aspect of matter.
