CLAY TABLET

is our newsletter coming to your mailbox once a month.

Clay was used as a writing medium by ancient civilizations.

Cuneiform characters were imprinted on a wet clay tablet with a stylus. Many tablets were just dried, so that after use they could be soaked in water, softened and recycled into new tablets. Others, once written, were either deliberately or accidentally fired, making them hard and durable.

The earliest tablets were mainly used for accounting. Then, as writing evolved, they became the medium where the scribes recorded the events of the time.

Fascinated by this story, we named this little communication effort of ours "CLAY TABLET". We are inspired by the long and intimate relationship between people and clay.

Sometimes we will use this outlet as an account of what we are making, or to show you the behind-the-scene, to inform you about events or promotions or other interesting things. Other times we will share our thoughts, hoping to start a conversation with you. But, always, we will celebrate this ordinary and, at the same time, extraordinary material.
