This collection is more than a new line of ceramics.

Here we invite you to find time, to make yourself comfortable, to observe the imperceptible changes that occurs day after day, throughout the year. 

First: let me tell you a story..

4.5 billion years ago, Earth was struck by Theia, a planet the size of Mars. That collision generated the ejection of debris that later formed the Moon, and caused the Earth's rotational axis to tilt with respect to the axis perpendicular to its orbital plane. Currently the axial tilt is about 23° 26', this causes a periodic change in the intensity of sunlight reaching the Earth's surface at a given latitude. This angle is therefore responsible for seasonal trends, not just meteorological ones.

If that chance encounter between Earth and Theia had not occurred, our planet would be very different from how we know it. With no moon and no seasons, what would our perception of time be? 

It's hard to answer, after all we have evolved in a seasonal environment and everything in our life is embedded in seasonality.

With this projects we want to talk about seasons, how they are perceived by the individual and society, the patterns we expect month after month, and the changes that disrupt them. We do that through everyday objects, rituals, music, books, culture.

We tried to combine two different perspectives: that of the Earth as a planet that keeps moving around the sun, and a more intimate one, of us observing and interacting with the environment through our everyday routines. 

Then: let me tell you about the collection..

The 23° 26' collection is meant to unfold during the year, arriving in your life as a surprise when the season changes. It comprises four cups, each one designed with a season in mind, and entirely hand made in our studio in Padua, Italy.  The first one, associated with Winter, is released in December 2024. The next will be Spring, coming out in March 2025, followed (of course!) by Summer and Autumn, released respectively in June and September 2025. 

But there is more! Each ceramic piece comes with an organic herbal tea by Wilden.herbal, an Italian company which creates botanical blends with a contemporary twist drawing from rich tradition, popular myths and the healing powers of plants. For Geologismi, Wilden.herbal selected, among their offer, four herbal infusions that celebrate the dialogue between light and seasons, in an unconventional and surprising way.

But.. there is even more! For each season, you have access to a playlist, curated by our friend Seawash, to be listen to while you prepare and drink your herbal tea.

And last but not least, each season we publish a fanzine, dealing with.. well... all we have been talking about so far.
